| Epitope name | Sialyl 6-Sulfo Lewis x |
| Structure | ![]() |
| Sequence | Neu5Ac(a2-3)Gal(b1-4)[Fuc(a1-3)][HSO3(-6)]GlcNAc(b1-)-R |
| Aliases | Sialyl 6-Sulfo Lex,formerly 6-Sulfo Sialyl Lex |
| History | The epitope was found to be a specific ligand for L-selectin present in high endothelial venules of human peripheral lymph nodes, and was shown to mediate homing of naive lymphocytes. [11] The term Lewis refers to the family name of individuals suffering from a red blood cell incompatibility problem that helped lead to the discovery of this blood group. |
